Google has officially acknowledged that certain Android applications may experience stability issues on Googlebook laptops equipped with Intel processors. While the company previously marketed these devices as having full access to the entire Play Store library, it now clarifies that performance may vary depending on the hardware architecture.

The compatibility challenges stem from the fact that many Android applications were originally developed for Arm-based processors. Consequently, a subset of complex apps and games requires additional optimization from developers to run efficiently on Intel-powered devices. Google is currently collaborating with Intel, Qualcomm, and software developers to improve overall compatibility.

The Googlebook lineup consists of five distinct models. Three of these, manufactured by Acer, Asus, and Lenovo, utilize Intel chips. In contrast, the models produced by Dell and HP feature Qualcomm Snapdragon processors, which offer higher native compatibility with the Android ecosystem. Google has not disclosed the specific number or names of the applications affected by these performance issues.
