A recent report from CoinShares suggests that Bitcoin faces short-term price pressure due to core inflation data, which rose by 0.3% in August. This figure exceeded expectations, leading market participants to anticipate a tighter monetary policy from the Federal Reserve.

According to the CME FedWatch tool, there is currently an 85% probability that interest rates will remain elevated following the upcoming Federal Reserve meeting. Historically, Bitcoin has shown stronger performance in environments characterized by lower interest rates.

However, the long-term outlook for the asset may improve if the U.S. Treasury’s bond buyback program continues to underperform in reducing long-term yields. James Butterfill, Head of Research at CoinShares, notes that persistent high yields could force the Treasury to implement more aggressive intervention measures.

Such interventions could strengthen the narrative surrounding currency debasement, which has historically supported both Bitcoin and gold. Investors often utilize these assets as hedges when the U.S. dollar weakens, a trend observed following previous announcements regarding bond buyback expansions.
