CoinMarketCap has officially acquired the crypto derivatives data platform CoinGlass. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed by the parties involved. This move aims to integrate detailed derivatives positioning data, such as liquidation clusters and funding rates, into the existing CoinMarketCap ecosystem.
Following the acquisition, CoinGlass will maintain its current brand identity and retain its existing team. The platform's website, mobile application, free analytical tools, API, and pricing structure will remain unchanged for all users. CoinGlass currently tracks data across 28 exchanges and monitors more than 2,500 financial instruments.
The acquisition follows a previous corporate integration in the sector, as CoinMarketCap itself was purchased by the cryptocurrency exchange Binance in April 2020. At the time of that deal, it was stated that CoinMarketCap would continue to operate as an independent entity without direct influence from Binance on its ranking systems.
