Coinbase announced a new feature allowing users to open digital Pokémon card packs directly through its platform. Each digital card corresponds to a physical counterpart stored in a secure vault. Users can choose to keep their cards in storage or request physical delivery to their address.
This initiative follows the company's previous collaboration with the platform Courtyard, which began in May 2024. That integration allowed users to mint tokenized versions of physical cards, which were then stored by the security firm Brink’s. The new feature aims to bring these mechanics into the native Coinbase ecosystem.
The announcement, shared on X on September 28, did not specify a launch date, pricing, or fee structure for the service. The Pokémon Company, which holds the licensing rights, has not yet issued a public statement regarding the teaser from the exchange.
