Coinbase has launched live crypto price prediction markets for users in the United States. The feature allows traders to place binary bets on whether the prices of assets like Bitcoin, Ether, Solana, and BNB will rise or fall within timeframes starting from 15 minutes.
The contracts operate on a simple yes-or-no basis. A correct prediction pays $1, while an incorrect one results in a payout of $0. Contract pricing is based on crowd-implied probabilities, where the cost reflects the market's perceived likelihood of a specific outcome.
Users can fund these positions using either USD or the stablecoin USDC. The service is provided through Coinbase Financial Markets, which is a member of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and the National Futures Association. Access is restricted in certain states, including Nevada.
This initiative is part of the company's strategy to consolidate various trading products into a single platform. Previously, Coinbase introduced prediction markets for sports and politics in partnership with Kalshi, with the initial announcement made on December 17, 2025.
