Coinbase has integrated seven of its tokenized US technology stocks into the Aave V4 protocol on the Base network. Users can now deposit these assets into the Aave Equities Hub to use them as collateral for borrowing USDC.

The supported assets include tokenized versions of Apple, Amazon, Google, Meta, Microsoft, Nvidia, and Tesla shares. Chainlink provides the necessary onchain market data to value this collateral, with pricing feeds active from Sunday through Friday evening.

These tokens are issued by Coinbase Onchain SPV Ltd., while Alpaca Securities LLC holds the underlying shares in segregated accounts. Dividends are automatically reinvested into additional shares after taxes and fees, and stock splits are managed via an onchain multiplier.

The service is currently restricted to eligible users located outside the United States. While the platform operates around the clock, collateral values remain fixed during weekends and US market holidays when traditional stock exchanges are closed.

Future plans for the integration include expanding the list of available tokenized stocks and potentially introducing the GHO stablecoin as a borrowable asset, pending governance and risk approval.
