Coinbase announced the return of its Pro platform, which will be integrated into the newly formed Coinbase Global Exchange. This infrastructure is based on the Deribit derivatives platform, which Coinbase acquired in August 2025 for approximately $2.9 billion. The full relaunch of the Pro product is scheduled for the end of 2026.

The new exchange aims to consolidate spot, futures, perpetuals, options, and equities trading into a single environment. As part of the integration, Coinbase is merging liquidity pools for US and international markets. On October 1, 2026, the company completed the migration of Coinbase International Exchange clients to the Deribit infrastructure.

The platform will offer spot margin trading with leverage of up to 10x on major assets and up to 5x on others. Coinbase also promises faster order routing to improve execution for high-volume traders. The rollout of access will be staggered, with US institutional clients gaining entry through Coinbase Financial Markets, while retail users are expected to follow later in the year.

Deribit provides significant scale to the new ecosystem. As of September 30, 2026, the exchange held over $30 billion in Bitcoin options open interest and processed more than $1 trillion in trading volume over the preceding year. The announcement was made at the Token2049 event, highlighting the creation of a unified regulated liquidity pool.
