Brian Armstrong, CEO of Coinbase, maintains a forecast that Bitcoin will reach $400,000 by 2030. Achieving this target requires a 420% increase from the current price level of approximately $76,930. The cryptocurrency recently experienced a 5.4% decline over the past week and remains 39% below its October 2025 peak of over $126,000.
Armstrong attributes current market movements to four-year cycles, noting that the typical one-year decline period has concluded. He expects positive performance for Bitcoin over the next two years. Key upcoming events include a procedural vote on the CLARITY Act in the Senate on September 15 and the next halving, which is projected to occur in approximately 18 to 19 months.
Analyst Jesse Myers suggests that historical patterns following previous halvings indicate a potential for significant growth. If the current cycle mirrors past trends, Bitcoin could reach $232,000 by the April 2028 halving and $464,000 in the second half of 2029. These projections rely on market behaviors observed in previous halving cycles.
Market data shows mixed demand, with spot market volume currently neutral and futures traders leading recent rebounds. US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $986.9 million in inflows during the week ending September 4, contributing to a three-week total of $3.8 billion. However, the current week shows net outflows of $166.9 million, threatening the previous growth streak.
