Cohere Inc. has launched North 2, an updated platform designed for deploying AI agents within large enterprises. The new version introduces a redesigned orchestration system for managing multistep tasks and includes enhanced administrative controls for monitoring and capping token usage.

The platform now features a management console, North Admin, which tracks token consumption by individual users and agents. Administrators can set consumption tiers, establish usage limits, and configure alerts to prevent overspending. The system is model-agnostic, allowing companies to integrate external models.

North 2 includes tools for creating slide decks, dashboards, and applications directly from natural-language requests. It supports prebuilt templates and a drag-and-drop workflow builder. Connectors are available for Slack, GitHub, SharePoint, and OneDrive, with future support planned for financial data providers.

The company is collaborating with Nvidia Corp. to optimize costs, utilizing Blackwell and Hopper GPUs to increase token output per node. Security features include guardrails for screening sensitive information and prompt injection, with options for on-premises or air-gapped deployments.

Current users include Bell Cyber, LG CNS, and Radical Ventures. The release follows Cohere’s recent merger agreement with the German AI developer Aleph Alpha GmbH, which was announced less than three weeks prior to the North 2 launch.
