Cohere has launched North 2, an enterprise platform designed to function as a control center for AI agents. The system enables agents to manage multi-step workflows independently while maintaining context across sessions. It integrates with tools including Slack, SharePoint, and Jira, and allows users to generate presentations, dashboards, and applications directly from text prompts.

The platform features a model-agnostic architecture, supporting both Cohere’s proprietary Command A+ models and third-party alternatives. Organizations can deploy North 2 in cloud environments, on-premises, or in fully air-gapped configurations. Administrative controls provided through North Admin allow for the management of token usage, user quotas, and specific access rights for individual agents.

To ensure security in critical operations, the system requires human approval before agents execute sensitive actions. Cohere notes that its models demonstrate improved token efficiency when running on Nvidia Blackwell and Hopper hardware. Current production deployments of the platform include implementations at LG CNS and Bell Cyber.

Cohere is focusing on government agencies and highly regulated industries that require strict control over AI infrastructure. This strategic direction aligns with the company's acquisition of Aleph Alpha, which was announced in April. Aleph Alpha recently introduced Kolibri, a language model supporting German and English.
