Cognition Valuation Jumps to $48 Billion After New Funding Round

Cognition is training its own model based on open-source alternatives to reduce reliance on expensive third-party models from OpenAI and Anthropic. This strategy is intended to lower costs and move the company closer to breakeven.

The company leases an Nvidia server cluster costing hundreds of millions of dollars annually. According to The Information, this could push the company's total cash burn to $800 million this year.

Founded in 2024 by Scott Wu, Cognition serves major enterprise customers including NASA, Goldman Sachs, Citi, and Mercedes-Benz.
