The Certification and Accreditation Administration of China (CNCA) has issued a suspension notice to the China Certification Centre for Automotive Products (CCAP). The regulator ordered a one-month suspension of operations starting from September 9, 2026, until October 8, 2026.
The investigation revealed that the organization failed to correctly identify product categories during mandatory certification activities. CCAP issued certificates for products that were not included in the mandatory certification catalog, violating established management regulations.
During the suspension period, the company is prohibited from conducting any mandatory certification activities within the specified scope. The regulator has mandated that CCAP must investigate internal personnel, review certification processes, and improve the verification of application materials.
The organization is required to submit a formal rectification report to the CNCA. The regulator will conduct an inspection of the implemented changes. If the results are unsatisfactory, the suspension period may be extended further.
CCAP was established in August 1998 and operates under the China Academy of Machinery Science and Technology Group. It is an authorized third-party certification body that handles mandatory vehicle certification, voluntary product certification, and management system audits.
