The inaugural CMG World Robot Mount Tai Climbing Competition is scheduled for October 29. Robots will navigate real mountain trails, with the event broadcast on CCTV news and sports platforms.

The competition features two main tracks, four official categories, and one special challenge. The racing track evaluates continuous mobility in complex terrain, divided into humanoid and legged robot groups.

The humanoid robot race covers 2.6 kilometers with over 1,800 steps from Wanxianlou to Hutian Pavilion, with an optional 600-meter, 1,000-step extension to Zhongtian Gate. Legged robots will race 3.2 kilometers and 2,800 steps.

The legged robot load-bearing race simulates traditional porter tasks over 2.6 kilometers with five checkpoints. An exoskeleton race covers 3.8 kilometers and 3,100 steps from Hongmen to Zhongtian Gate.

A special challenge for wheeled, tracked, and spherical robots tests all-terrain capabilities over 3.2 kilometers. Teams can access the course for testing in mid-September, with qualifying rounds held one week before the event.
