CME Group and CF Benchmarks have introduced two multi-asset indices designed to provide institutional traders with standardized market metrics. The CME CF Crypto Market Index includes Bitcoin and Ether alongside 10 other digital assets, while the CME CF Emerging Crypto Index tracks 10 tokens excluding Bitcoin and Ether.

Both indices utilize free-float market-cap weighting, focusing on assets available for trading. Real-time values are published every second, with daily settlement prices calculated across London, New York, and APAC time zones. The index constituents undergo review twice a year, in June and December.

In the Emerging Crypto Index, BNB accounts for approximately 32% of the weight, followed by XRP at 27.6%, Solana at 18.5%, and Hyperliquid at 14.6%. These four assets represent nearly 92.7% of the index. The launch follows a testing phase that began on August 24, 2026.

Currently, no futures, options, or ETFs are linked to these indices, meaning they cannot be traded directly. Alongside the index launch, CME Group introduced position offsets for Bitcoin and Ether futures and upgraded its options dashboard tool to enhance infrastructure for existing contracts.
