CME Group announced the addition of Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap futures to its platform, with a launch date set for October 19. The exchange will offer both standard and micro-sized contracts for these assets to accommodate different levels of market exposure.
Standard contracts are sized at 10 000 UNI or 250 BCH, while micro contracts cover 1 000 UNI or 25 BCH. Based on current valuations, a standard UNI contract represents approximately $90 000 in exposure, while a standard BCH contract equals about $69 000.
The exchange is regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, providing institutional investors like banks and hedge funds with a compliant way to trade these assets. CME Group reported an average of 279 800 daily crypto trades in the first half of 2026, totaling $8,3 billion in notional value.
Following the announcement, the price of UNI rose by 5 percent, while BCH increased by nearly 10 percent. Giovanni Vicioso, Global Head of Cryptocurrency Products at CME Group, stated that the move addresses growing institutional demand for regulated digital asset risk management tools.
