CME Group is expanding its cryptocurrency derivatives offerings by introducing futures contracts for Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap. Trading for both assets is scheduled to commence on October 19, 2026, subject to regulatory approval. The exchange will provide both standard and micro-sized contracts for these new listings.
The Bitcoin Cash futures will represent 250 BCH per standard contract and 25 BCH for the micro version. Meanwhile, Uniswap futures will track 10,000 UNI per standard contract, with a micro option set at 1,000 UNI. These additions join an existing suite that already includes assets like Bitcoin, Ether, XRP, Solana, and others.
During the first half of 2026, CME recorded an average daily volume of 279,800 crypto contracts, totaling approximately $8,3 billion in notional value. The average open interest reached 264,600 contracts, valued at about $15,4 billion. The exchange transitioned to 24/7 trading for its crypto products earlier this year.
Giovanni Vicioso, Global Head of Cryptocurrency Products at CME, stated that the new listings serve as tools for managing price risk in a maturing market. The inclusion of Uniswap futures provides institutional investors with a regulated method to gain exposure to the DeFi sector without requiring direct interaction with on-chain protocols.
