CloudNC was founded in London in 2015 by Theo Saville and Chris Emery. The company develops software to automate CNC programming, which has traditionally been a manual and slow process. Its main product, CAM Assist, integrates with CAM packages like Fusion, Mastercam, and Siemens NX to generate milling strategies and toolpaths in seconds.
The company has expanded its footprint to over 1,000 machine shops globally, including hundreds in the US. Its client list includes major players such as Lockheed Martin and Major Tool and Machine. To further its growth, CloudNC is working with Knox Systems to obtain FedRAMP certification for CAM Assist, which would allow the company to access US government defense and sensitive manufacturing contracts.
CloudNC has raised a total of over $95 million to date. This latest round of $20 million was led by Nimble Ventures, with participation from Calculus Venture Capital, Entrepreneur First, and LM Ventures. Previous funding rounds include a Series A of £9 million from Atomico in 2018 and a Series B of $45 million from Autodesk, Lockheed Martin, and British Patient Capital in 2022.
The new capital will be used to enter new markets and launch Quote Agent, an AI tool for quoting and estimating machining jobs, scheduled for release later in 2026. This tool aims to solve bottlenecks in precision machining quoting. CloudNC competes with other AI-driven platforms like Paperless Parts, which has raised $45.5 million, Limitless Labs, which raised $20 million in June, and Manukai, which raised $3 million.
