Engineers at Cloud.ru developed a 3D-printed miniature server model to attract visitors to their conference booth. The device features Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing users to control LED lighting patterns via a smartphone.

The project utilized an ESP8266 controller for logic and fiber optics to simulate authentic server port activity. The model was printed using a Bambu Lab A1 Combo 3D printer with PLA and PETG materials.

The team implemented three distinct lighting modes—MLAG, Link 1, and Link 2—along with adjustable brightness and color settings for the side logo. The software was developed using Arduino IDE with libraries by AlexGuyver.

The server served as a prize for a contest where 224 participants attempted to extract Kubernetes cluster keys from a DevOps agent using text prompts. The competition saw 8,852 total attempts, with completion times ranging from 5 minutes to 4 hours and 52 minutes.

The project files and firmware source code have been published on GitHub for public access. The company also noted the release of Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) 3.0, which introduces Linux container support and kernel 6.18.
