Clearpool is developing an institutional credit product for the XRP Ledger in partnership with Ripple and Cicada Partners. The initiative, announced on August 20-21, 2026, aims to provide working capital loans to fintech and payments firms using Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin.

The infrastructure relies on two proposed standards, XLS-65 and XLS-66, which are currently awaiting validator approval on the XRPL Devnet. Cicada Partners, which has over $860 million in underwriting experience, will manage credit risk, while Ripple acts as a limited partner.

RLUSD, launched in December 2024, has reached a market cap of approximately $2.37 billion. The stablecoin is supervised by the New York Department of Financial Services and custodied by BNY. Clearpool has originated over $965 million in loans since 2021.

Separately, Clearpool proposed a 1:1 migration from its CPOOL token to a new token, CLEAR, on September 11, 2026. The plan involves increasing the total supply from 1 billion CPOOL to 1.125 billion CLEAR, with 70% of the new tokens allocated to current holders.
