Citi is reportedly partnering with Coinbase to integrate stablecoin payment solutions for institutional clients. The collaboration aims to combine Citi’s global payments network with Coinbase’s digital asset infrastructure. This initiative focuses on facilitating fiat pay-ins and pay-outs, as well as managing on- and off-ramps and payments orchestration for institutional users.
The partnership leverages Citi’s presence across 94 markets and its access to more than 300 clearing systems. By integrating stablecoin technology, the companies intend to streamline cross-border and treasury payments. This move reflects a growing trend of traditional financial institutions adopting blockchain-based solutions to enhance their existing payment capabilities.
