Nikolas Bullwinkel, the founder and CEO of Circus Group, will speak at the EU-Startups Summit 2027 in Malta. The event, scheduled for May 13-14, 2027, expects to host approximately 2,500 participants, including founders and investors.
Bullwinkel co-founded the quick-commerce firm Flink in Berlin. During his tenure, the company expanded to over 140 locations and 12,000 employees. In December 2021, Flink secured €669 million in funding, reaching a post-money valuation of €2.5 billion.
Circus, founded in 2021 by Bullwinkel, Carsten Wille, Helge Plehn, and Fabio Haebel, focuses on autonomous food production. In 2022, the company raised €11 million and expanded its services across several German cities.
The company acquired the culinary robotics startup Aitme in 2023 to integrate automated cooking technology. Following this, Circus completed a listing on the Xetra exchange and began trading on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
Circus currently develops the CA-1 autonomous food-production robot. The system utilizes proprietary AI and robotics to prepare meals with minimal human intervention for civilian and defence sectors.
