Circle has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Tazapay, a cross-border payments platform based in Singapore. The deal is expected to finalize in 2027, pending customary closing conditions and regulatory approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore.

Tazapay currently processes an annualized payment volume of $25 billion, a significant increase from the $10 billion reported in August 2025. The platform supports over 60 banking and fintech partners and provides local payout rails across more than 100 markets.

The acquisition aims to enhance Circle’s global payment capabilities, specifically for the Asia-Pacific region and emerging markets. Stablecoins currently represent approximately 60% of the total transaction volume processed by the Singaporean startup.

Circle has maintained a long-term relationship with Tazapay, having participated in its Series B funding round in August 2025. That round brought the startup's total funding to $57.9 million, with participation from Ripple as well.

Following the acquisition, Circle intends to integrate Tazapay into its payment network to facilitate near-instant, 24/7 cross-border transactions using USDC. Existing Tazapay customers will continue to receive services, API access, and support without disruption.
