Ten Chinese government departments have jointly issued new measures to stimulate the recreational vehicle (RV) market. The initiative focuses on improving supply quality, including the development of new energy and intelligent RV models, while establishing new safety and technical standards for the industry.

The regulations introduce significant changes to vehicle management. Small non-commercial RVs will no longer have a mandatory retirement age, while the service life for rental RVs has been extended to 25 years and travel trailers to 20 years. Authorities also plan to expand C6 driver license testing centers to facilitate easier access for consumers.

Infrastructure development is a key pillar of the policy. Local governments are encouraged to integrate RV parking into public parking planning, highway service areas, and tourist attractions. New guidelines also streamline land use for RV campsites, allowing for long-term leasing and the revitalization of idle land for camping facilities.

The government is promoting the growth of the RV rental market by encouraging companies to adopt technologies like AI and VR for customer service. Financial institutions are urged to develop specialized insurance and credit products to support both consumers and operators, while local authorities are tasked with creating specialized RV travel routes.
