China plans to lead the establishment of an open-source artificial intelligence cooperation platform within the BRICS bloc. President Xi Jinping announced this initiative at the BRICS summit held in New Delhi on September 13, 2026.

The proposed strategy includes creating an open BRICS AI community and fostering collaboration on the development and deployment of large language models. China intends to organize training seminars and workshops to promote an open ecosystem for artificial intelligence.

The initiative also covers the creation of a BRICS digital ecosystem cloud platform. This project aims to standardize industrial protocols, facilitate technology exchanges, and provide digital skills training for member countries.

Furthermore, China proposed forming an alliance for engineering training and launching a youth exchange program focused on scientific and technological innovation. These measures are intended to strengthen cooperation among the bloc's member states.
