The Chinese Ministry of Transport has identified 30 highway service areas expected to face high demand for electric vehicle charging on October 5. These locations are primarily located in the Hebei, Hunan, and Shanxi provinces. Drivers are advised to use the e-Lu Changtong WeChat mini-program to monitor the real-time status of charging stations.

Data indicates that during the National Day holiday, the daily volume of electric vehicles on highways is 1.8 times higher than usual. Traffic patterns show that demand is dispersed during the outbound phase but becomes highly concentrated during the return trip. Charging demand typically rises significantly starting at 10:00 and begins to decline after 21:00.

The ministry highlights October 5 and 6 as critical periods for return traffic, with a substantial increase in charging activity expected. Peak hours for charging are projected to be between 11:00 and 21:00 on October 5, and from 10:00 to 22:00 on October 6. Travelers are encouraged to plan their routes accordingly to avoid potential delays at these busy hubs.
