The Cyberspace Administration of China, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology have released the Digital Village High-Quality Development Action Plan for 2026–2030. The document outlines strategies to expand digital consumption in rural areas and improve county-level commercial systems.

The plan encourages the adoption of new energy vehicles and green smart home appliances in rural regions. Companies are urged to develop smart hardware and software products specifically tailored to the needs of rural life. Additionally, the government aims to strengthen consumer protection mechanisms to ensure a secure digital shopping environment.

In the education sector, the initiative promotes the use of the national smart education platform to provide resources to remote areas. Schools are encouraged to deploy smart terminals and AI-based educational tools to integrate artificial intelligence into rural curricula. Programs will also be implemented to improve the digital literacy of rural teachers.

The plan also focuses on digital governance through the use of grid-based management tools. Authorities intend to combat illegal activities, including telecommunications fraud, online gambling, and illicit financial operations in rural areas. Furthermore, the government plans to expand access to public legal services through internet-based platforms.
