Chevrolet is narrowing the availability of its Multi-Flex tailgate for the 2027 Silverado 1500 model year. The feature will be restricted to three specific trim levels: Trail Boss, High Country, and ZR2. While the ZR2 continues to include the tailgate as standard equipment, the option will see a price increase for other eligible models.
The cost for the Multi-Flex tailgate on the Trail Boss and High Country trims will rise to $595. This represents a $150 increase compared to the $445 price point offered in 2026. The tailgate design allows for multiple configurations, including a load stop, a work surface, and a step capable of supporting up to 375 pounds.
The 2027 Silverado 1500 lineup has been redesigned and now consists of seven trims: Work Truck, Custom, Silverado, Custom Trail Boss, Trail Boss, ZR2, and High Country. Updates for the new model year include a revised interior, a 16.3-inch center display, and a 12.2-inch digital instrument cluster as standard. Higher trims offer an additional 11.5-inch passenger screen.
Engine options for the 2027 model year include a new generation of small-block V8 engines, an updated 2.7-liter TurboMax four-cylinder, and the 3.0-liter Duramax diesel. The vehicle also retains the availability of the Super Cruise system with trailer capability as part of the broader range of updates introduced by Chevrolet for the upcoming model year.
