The Chery Jaecoo 7 has reclaimed the top spot as the best-selling new car model in the UK. According to SMMT data, 10,813 units were registered in September, marking the model's return to leadership after a six-month hiatus. The total UK market volume for the month reached 350,518 new vehicles, the highest September figure since 2017.
The vehicle is available with a 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine or as a plug-in hybrid version known as SHS-P. Pricing for the base model starts at £29,105, while the top-tier hybrid variant costs up to £36,505. Gasoline versions offer either front-wheel or all-wheel drive, and all models come with a 7-year or 160,000 km warranty.
The plug-in hybrid variant offers an electric-only range of up to 90 km and a total combined range of 1,200 km. The model supports fast charging and has earned the nickname 'Range Rover from Temu' in the UK due to its angular design. Following this performance, Chinese automakers collectively captured approximately 23% of the British new car market in September.
