Charter Foundation provides a shared legal and governance framework designed to replace the complex multi-entity structures typically used for token launches. The initiative aims to simplify the process by managing the legal scaffolding on behalf of the project during the initial phase, before transitioning control to an independent organization managed by the project team.

The primary partner for the framework is Ink Foundation, which is integrated into the Kraken ecosystem. This partnership allows projects using Charter to access liquidity channels and distribution infrastructure associated with one of the largest centralized exchanges.

The operational stack includes Magna for token operations and Chainsecurity and Zellic as preferred security auditors. The framework's documentation has been publicly available since August 21, although no tokens have launched through the system yet as it remains in its rollout phase.
