Chainlink has developed a system that automates dividend payments for tokenized equities across four different blockchains. The project was presented at the Swift Hackathon and focuses on processing corporate actions, such as dividends, stock splits, and mergers.

The solution aims to eliminate errors that occur in traditional markets during the manual handling of corporate events by custodians and data vendors. The system ensures that token holders receive payments correctly regardless of which blockchain their assets are held on.

Chainlink previously won the 2025 Swift Hackathon Business Challenge, where it demonstrated a system for cross-border settlement that reduced compliance onboarding times from days to minutes. The company also placed as a runner-up in the 2026 competition.

The dividend automation is part of a broader initiative involving 24 institutions, including Swift, DTCC, Euroclear, and UBS. This effort targets the manual processing of corporate actions, a problem estimated to cost the financial industry $58 billion annually.
