Cerebras Systems shares reached a record low of $146.90 to $146.98 on October 12, 2026. This price point is approximately 21% lower than the company's IPO price of $185 and 62% below the intraday high of $386 recorded on its first day of trading.
The company went public on May 13, 2026, selling 30 million shares and raising between $5.55 billion and $6.4 billion. At the peak of its first trading day, the market capitalization of Cerebras reached $95 billion, but it has since declined to approximately $39 billion as of early October.
The decline in share price is attributed to several factors, including the expiration of lock-up periods for early investors and insiders. Additionally, planned insider sales totaling approximately $84 million were scheduled around October 1, 2026.
Market pressure also stems from competition with Nvidia. A report from SemiAnalysis suggests that some critical workloads are shifting from Cerebras technology to Nvidia platforms. The company maintains contracts with major clients including OpenAI and Amazon Web Services.
