CAS Space has significantly accelerated the assembly process for its Lijian-1 launch vehicle. The total assembly time has been reduced from approximately three months during the maiden flight phase to just 15 days currently.
The company's Nansha assembly facility now boasts an annual production capacity of 30 rockets. This increase in manufacturing speed is supported by a shift in production organization, where different assembly stations now operate in parallel rather than using a single team for the entire process.
The company is transitioning from a mission-based production model to a proactive manufacturing approach. This shift allows the firm to compress the time from receiving an order to launch to under six months.
Lijian-1 has entered a phase of high-density, routine launches, with the company aiming for a monthly launch cadence. This operational scale is designed to meet the growing demand for space transportation services as the number of satellite payloads continues to rise.
