Canon China has officially scheduled a new product launch event for September 16 at 8:30 AM. Industry reports suggest the company will unveil the EOS R8 Mark II full-frame mirrorless camera during this presentation.

The upcoming device is expected to feature a 24-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor with an ISO range of 100 to 102400. It will likely incorporate the Dual Pixel AF II autofocus system with a sensitivity of -7.5EV, along with support for face pre-registration and downloadable LUTs.

The camera design reportedly shifts toward a more angular aesthetic, reminiscent of the EOS M series, and includes an improved grip. The model is expected to weigh approximately 500 grams and feature a single SD card slot along with a rear joystick for navigation.

Technical specifications indicate the device will lack a mechanical shutter, offering a maximum shutter speed of 1/16000 seconds and a burst rate of up to 40 frames per second. It will also provide 7.5 stops of in-body image stabilization.

For video production, the camera is expected to support 4K resolution at 60 frames per second and 1080p at 180 frames per second. It will also include professional recording formats such as C-Log 3, Rec.709, PQ, and HLG.
