Canon China has issued a warning to consumers regarding the proliferation of counterfeit 'CCD cameras' sold under the brand name. These fake own devices are being marketed as 'retro CCD' cameras through both online and online channels, which the company says harms consumer rights and brand reputation.
To identify authentic products, Canon advises users to check for a unique anti-counterfeiting label on the packaging of new machines. The company states that genuine devices display the brand logo upon startup and include brand and model information in the photo EXIF data.
Consumers are encouraged to check the list of current models available for sale on the official website and purchase only through official channels. This warning comes amid a trend where early 21st-century compact digital cameras with CCD sensors are seeing a resurgence in popularity among some consumers.
