John Koudounis, CEO of Calamos Investments, forecasts that the price of Bitcoin will reach $1 million by 2030. He identifies institutional bank lending against Bitcoin, reduced volatility, and the introduction of new exchange-traded fund products as the primary catalysts for this growth.

The executive highlights that these developments are expected to facilitate access to significant pools of advised capital. Koudounis also noted that Calamos Investments conducted research on Bitcoin for eight years prior to making its own investment decisions.

The company has launched the world's first downside-protected Bitcoin ETFs, which offer protection levels of 100%, 90%, and 80%. Koudounis suggests that these financial instruments address concerns that currently lead many financial advisors to avoid the asset class.

Beyond his outlook on Bitcoin, Koudounis discussed the shift in strategy from convertible notes to perpetual preferreds. He also addressed broader economic topics, including bond market stress in France and the debt crisis in Greece.
