General Motors announced in 2023 that it would stop supporting Apple CarPlay in its upcoming electric vehicles, which would prevent users from projecting iPhone interfaces for navigation, music, and communication onto the vehicle's screen.

However, the 2027 Cadillac Lyriq has become the first exception to this policy. The online configurator for the 2027 model, launched in August, shows that Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto remain standard features.

A Cadillac spokesperson told CarBuzz that the brand is continuously adjusting its infotainment strategy for electric vehicles based on customer feedback, while maintaining native onboard experiences as a priority.
