Apple Intelligence features in Siri are restricted on macOS systems configured in languages not officially supported by Apple, including Russian. The system checks the language setting only once during the boot process. By booting the system in English, users can activate Siri AI, and the functionality persists even after switching the system language back to the native one until the next reboot.

The author developed an application called AI Restart to automate this process. It monitors system logs for specific events related to Siri AI availability, such as the 'LanguageIsSupported' capability. The tool manages the transition by closing applications, performing a reboot, and handling the initial waitlist registration for Apple Intelligence, which must be done while the system is in English.

The development process involved complex challenges with JXA (JavaScript for Automation). The author had to implement custom logic to restore window states, manage background agents, and handle system notifications. Specifically, the application uses IOKit to monitor battery status efficiently, replacing resource-heavy shell commands like 'pmset' to reduce CPU usage.

The application also addresses UI limitations, such as the incorrect 'ChatGPT unavailable' status in settings after reverting the language, and provides a custom battery percentage indicator in the menu bar. The tool is built as a readable JXA script to ensure transparency and trust, as it requires elevated permissions to manage system reboots and application states.
