BYD has initiated the seventh over-the-air update for the Fang Cheng Bao Bao 8 series, covering all trim levels including drone and fast-charging versions. The update introduces a redesigned interface for the DiLink smart cockpit, featuring new layouts, animations, and dynamic themes with 3D effects.
New communication features include a vehicle-to-vehicle radio function for instant messaging and emergency assistance, which requires additional hardware installation. The update also adds a courtyard mode across several configurations and integrates air conditioning controls with seat ventilation and heating for six and seven-seater models.
The drone-equipped versions receive significant functional upgrades, including mandatory real-name verification and account cancellation tools. Users can now utilize new shooting modes such as panoramic, trajectory timelapse, and periscope flight, alongside a manual cabin door control and a quick-access button for off-vehicle mode.
The fast-charging variants of the Bao 8 receive the 'Tripod' feature and an anti-motion sickness fragrance system. These updates aim to refine the interaction between the vehicle's hardware and software, expanding the capabilities of the onboard drone and cabin comfort systems.
