The BYD Atto 8, the European iteration of the Tang L, made its debut at the Paris Motor Show. This seven-seat electric SUV serves as the flagship for the company's European SUV lineup. The vehicle is scheduled to hit the European market in the first quarter of 2027.
The model features the second-generation Blade Battery with a 115-kWh capacity. Its flash charging technology enables the battery to charge from 10% to 70% in 5 minutes and from 10% to 97% in 9 minutes. In cold conditions at minus 30 degrees Celsius, a charge from 20% to 97% takes 12 minutes.
The SUV is available in two configurations: a rear-wheel-drive Design version with 340 kW output and a 652-kilometer WLTP range, and an all-wheel-drive Excellence version with 570 kW output and a 602-kilometer range. The latter accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in 4.6 seconds.
Measuring 5,040 mm in length, 1,996 mm in width, and 1,760 mm in height, the vehicle offers three rows of seating. Interior features include a 15.6-inch central touchscreen, voice control, and heated, ventilated, and massaging seats. Luggage capacity reaches 1,960 liters with rear rows folded.
To support the new technology, BYD intends to deploy 3,000 flash charging stations across Europe by the end of 2027. This infrastructure expansion aims to facilitate the adoption of the company's latest premium battery electric vehicles in the region.
