BYD has officially launched its Racco electric kei car in Sri Lanka, marking the model's first appearance in a market outside of Japan. The vehicle is currently available at an introductory price of 11,450,000 Sri Lankan rupees, equivalent to $34,615. This promotional pricing remains in effect until November 9, after which the cost is expected to increase.

The Racco features a 47 kW electric motor producing 160 Nm of torque and is available with two LFP battery options, providing a range of 210 km to 320 km under WLTC conditions. The front-wheel-drive vehicle measures 3395/1475/1800 mm with a 2,520 mm wheelbase, offering a 280-liter trunk and a 4.8-meter turning radius.

The model debuted in Japan in late July 2026, where it secured 1,000 orders within two weeks. In the Japanese market, the car is sold in three trim levels—200, 300 Plus, and 300 Premium—with prices ranging from ¥2,140,000 to ¥2,497,000, or approximately $13,555 to $15,815. Following the launch in Sri Lanka, BYD plans to introduce the Racco to Macau.
