BYD has introduced the Denza Z9 GT e3 Premium, a more affordable version of its luxury electric GT. The new trim is priced starting at ¥329,800 (approximately $49,000), making it about ¥40,000 ($6,000) cheaper than the Performance version, which starts at ¥369,800 ($55,000).
The vehicle is built on the e3 platform and features a tri-motor setup. It includes one 230 kW (308 hp) front motor and two 310 kW (310 kW) rear motors, providing a combined output of 770 kW (1,032 hp) and 1,210 Nm of torque. This configuration allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds.
The e3 Premium is equipped with a 122.5 kWh BYD Blade Battery 2.0. It offers a CLTC range of up to 860 km, which exceeds the 820 km range of the Performance model. The car utilizes Flash Charging technology, enabling a charge from 10% to 70% in 5 minutes and a full charge (10% to 97%) in 9 minutes.
To achieve the lower price point, the Premium trim replaces carbon-ceramic brake discs with cast-iron discs and uses different wheels. However, it retains standard premium features such as the God's Eye 5.0 driving assistance system and the DiSus-A dual-chamber air suspension.
The car measures 5,195 mm in length, 1,990 mm in width, and 1,480 mm in height, with a 3,125 mm wheelbase. In European markets, the Z9 GT starts at €115,000 in Germany and £105,000 for the electric version in the UK, with a WLTP range of up to 599 km.
