The taker buy/sell ratio on the Bybit exchange has surpassed 25, indicating a significant surge in aggressive buying within Bitcoin perpetual futures. This metric compares market-order buying against selling, where a value of 25 signifies that for every $1 of aggressive selling, there is $25 of aggressive buying.
Historical data shows similar spikes in this ratio during previous market pullbacks. In late September 2025, the ratio reached 24.26, while in January 2026, it peaked at 30.3. More recently, on July 30, 2026, the indicator was recorded at 20.86, consistently remaining above the threshold of 10 to 20 that analysts define as extreme.
Bybit is currently one of the largest global venues for derivatives trading by volume and open interest. The perpetual futures contracts offered by the exchange allow traders to maintain leveraged positions on Bitcoin indefinitely, though high ratios and rising funding rates can increase the risk of liquidations if the market moves against these positions.
