The Dubai-based cryptocurrency exchange Bybit has introduced new USDT-settled perpetual contracts for three major currency pairs: EUR/USD, GBP/USD, and USD/JPY. These instruments allow traders to track price movements in foreign exchange markets without requiring direct ownership of the underlying currencies.

The new contracts are available for trading 24/7, even during periods when traditional foreign exchange markets are closed. Users can access leverage of up to 100x, with all profits and losses settled directly in USDT. This launch expands the existing TradFi Perpetuals suite, which the exchange initially debuted in April.

Bybit’s current TradFi Perpetuals lineup now includes over 200 assets, covering equities, commodities, exchange-traded funds, and pre-IPO companies. The expansion into foreign exchange follows similar moves by other platforms, such as Kraken, which launched forex perpetuals with 50x leverage in April 2025, and BitMEX, which added six pairs with 100x leverage in April 2026.

The foreign exchange sector remains the largest and most liquid financial market globally. Data from the Bank for International Settlements indicates that the average daily global over-the-counter foreign exchange turnover reached $9,6 trillion in April 2025.
