BTSE Bhutan has officially secured a Financial Services License from the Gelephu Financial Services Office. This regulatory approval follows the preliminary authorization granted to the company in April 2026 and confirms that all necessary compliance requirements have been met.
The license permits the platform to operate a multilateral trading facility for virtual assets and provide institutional-grade custody services. These operations are based within the Gelephu Mindfulness City, a special administrative region in Bhutan focused on economic development.
The company plans to begin user onboarding in the coming weeks. Initial trading services will support BTC/USDT and ETH/USDT pairs, with additional assets to be added in subsequent phases. Future updates will also introduce fiat on-ramp and off-ramp capabilities for USD.
CEO Yew Chong Quak stated that the company is currently expanding its local presence in Gelephu. BTSE Bhutan intends to hire local staff and establish a physical office to support its long-term operations and regulatory commitments in the region.
