At the VMware Explore event, experts emphasized that private cloud modernization is evolving into a foundation for production artificial intelligence. Broadcom Inc. positions its VMware Cloud Foundation as a platform that integrates cloud-like developer experiences with the security and cost controls of private infrastructure.
Broadcom’s Tanzu Platform Agent Foundations aims to provide governance for autonomous agents, allowing them to access enterprise resources through role-based access control and credential management. The company also integrates network visibility and signed machine identities to secure AI components and monitor API traffic.
Strategic partnerships are central to deploying AI at scale. Broadcom and AMD are collaborating on validated hardware configurations to simplify the deployment of AI workloads. Additionally, Broadcom and Lenovo have validated memory tiering in VMware Cloud Foundation 9.1 on ThinkAgile VX V4 systems, which can double virtual machine density while maintaining over 90% performance.
Broadcom and Cisco have introduced AI factory infrastructure, which combines VMware Cloud Foundation with Cisco Unified Computing System and AI POD configurations. This approach allows IT departments to deploy pre-configured systems tailored to specific workload requirements, such as latency and user capacity, rather than relying on fixed hardware designs.
