Bovensiepen Automobile has introduced the Bovensiepen Spider, a limited-edition vehicle based on the BMW Z4 M40i. The production run is strictly limited to 99 units. The car features design modifications by Frank Stephenson, known for his work on the original BMW X5 and the modern Mini.

The vehicle is powered by a modified 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six engine, producing 435 hp and 580 Nm of torque. This represents an increase of 53 hp and 80 Nm compared to the standard Z4 M40i. With the optional Performance Package, the car reaches a top speed of 183 mph and accelerates to 62 mph in 4.2 seconds.

The Bovensiepen Spider is priced starting at €115,500 in Germany. Order books for the roadster are currently open, with the first customer deliveries scheduled for the first quarter of 2025. The base vehicles are sourced from the Magna Steyr production line in Graz, which previously handled Z4 assembly.

Bovensiepen Automobile, formerly known as Alpina, continues to operate independently after BMW acquired the brand name in 2022. The company plans to support its existing vehicle lineup through the end of 2025 while developing new coachbuilt projects under its own name.
