Bose has introduced its first wired earbuds since 2015, featuring active noise cancellation. The new model, named Bose Noise Cancelling Wired Earbuds, connects via a 4.2-foot USB-C cable, eliminating the need for battery charging. The device supports lossless audio and offers low latency for smartphones and laptops.
The earbuds include two microphones per side and Bose QuietControl technology, allowing users to toggle between Quiet Mode, Aware Mode, and an off setting using an inline remote. An additional microphone on the remote is dedicated to voice calls. The hardware carries an IPX4 rating for water resistance against sweat and rain.
Available for preorder on the Bose website, the earbuds are priced at $99. Customers can choose from three colors: black, white smoke, and a limited edition dewdrop mint. The company states shipping will begin on October 15th, though the online store indicates an October 13th start date.
Each package includes a zippered carrying case, three sizes of silicone eartips, and two sizes of stability wings for a secure fit. The design focuses on providing noise cancellation features without the battery management requirements typical of wireless alternatives.
