Boox has unveiled the Palma 3, a new iteration of its pocket-sized e-reader. The device features an anodized aluminum frame and a fiberglass backplate, marking a shift in the hardware design compared to previous models. The retail price for the new reader is set at $339.99, which represents an increase from the $279.99 launch price of the Palma 2.

The device retains the 6.13-inch E Ink Carta display with 300ppi resolution. Internally, the Palma 3 is equipped with a Qualcomm Q-6690 octa-core processor, 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of internal storage, which can be expanded via a microSD card. It also includes a 3950mAh battery, a 16-megapixel rear camera, and a fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button.

A notable software update is the inclusion of Android 16, which is one generation behind the current OS version. Additionally, the Palma 3 introduces support for the Boox InkSense Plus active stylus, allowing the device to function as a digital notepad. The stylus is sold separately as an optional accessory for an additional $46.

The company has announced that the Palma 3 will be available for purchase soon. While the core display technology remains consistent with the predecessor, the combination of updated software and new stylus compatibility aims to position the device as a more versatile mobile tool for users.
