Onyx International, the Guangzhou-based maker of BOOX devices, has filed for an IPO on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The company specializes in electronic-paper hardware, including e-readers, productivity tablets, and monitors, while positioning its Android-based BOOX OS as a core asset.
The company’s international reach is significant, with overseas markets accounting for over 54% of its revenue in the first half of 2026. As of June 30, 2026, BOOX OS had over 1.2 million monthly active users, and the StarNote application reached approximately two million downloads.
Financial results show revenue of RMB 573.6 million for the first half of 2026, a 7.4% year-on-year increase. However, net profit dropped by about 24% to RMB 53.3 million, with a net margin of 9.3%. Sales of high-speed readers declined, while inventory rose to RMB 748.8 million.
Onyx plans to use IPO proceeds for R&D, supply chain optimization, and international marketing. The company is also integrating AI features like document summarization and handwriting recognition to expand its software and services beyond hardware sales.
