BNB Chain has reclaimed the second position in decentralized finance total value locked, surpassing Solana. According to DeFiLlama, the TVL of BNB Chain stands at approximately $5.935 billion, while Solana holds $5.887 billion. This difference of roughly $48 million represents less than 1% of their respective totals.
The competition for the runner-up spot has remained intense throughout 2025 and 2026, with Solana briefly leading as recently as July 2026. Both networks are currently competing within the $5–6 billion range alongside Base and Tron. For comparison, Ethereum maintains a dominant position with a TVL of approximately $50 billion.
Data from CryptoRank indicates that BNB Chain added over $3.6 billion in real-world asset value during 2026, exceeding the $2.6 billion growth recorded by Solana in the same category. PancakeSwap remains the primary contributor to BNB Chain’s TVL, historically accounting for about $2.2 billion of the total volume.
Market volatility and fluctuations in token prices mean the current ranking remains unstable. While TVL serves as a key metric, it is sensitive to capital flows and asset valuations. BNB Chain continues to maintain a lead in decentralized exchange trading volume and application revenue, supported by lower transaction fees compared to Ethereum.
